Mike: I tried to contact Bill Haines with the email provided in his essay "Why did I write these ebooks this way" on your ebook page. I had a question on the contents of his 3 French ebooks. Can you provide his correct email address and/or answer my question.

Bill,
I am trying to determine the difference between 2 of your ebooks. They both show the exact same diagram:
- 1,617 positions - To purchase and download French Advance 6.Be2
- 3,800 positions - To purchase and download C02
Have you done any work on the main Line 3. Nc3?

I just this minute got off the phone after an hour long discussion about "things Bookup" with Bill Haines. I can report that he is well, and continuing his pioneering work in Chess Openings Theory with great enthusiasm. I regard him as the grandfather of "Theory Machine Analysis" and the inspiration for my involvement in the same field. For readers that are interested, his wonderful essay "Why did I write these ebooks this way" is available here ...

Bill's website is down, but he was unaware of that fact. He promises to investigate the "what's up" of that and get back online here ...
http://www.hainesremedies.com/
... but remember, the site is presently down.
Bill certainly wants to visit with you and other chess enthusiasts from the gang here. He really likes to talk chess on the phone, and told me to put up his phone # for you and the rest of the Bookup Community.
(707) 643-8012 - this is in the San Francisco, CA region.
Regarding email, Bill's current address is wchaines@comcast.net and he welcomes communication with all chess enthusiasts.
I have asked Bill to consider involvement in our Bulletin Board, first requesting this 4 years ago and continuing up until today, and it is just not his thing. He requests that I act as his proxy and communicate these circumstances.

Bill has years of additional research available presently in his most recent version(s), and would encourage you and others with curiosity to fetch these at his website, once it goes back up. The versions available on the Bookup site are obsolete. If you are in a hurry, phone him. _________________ Nothing livens up this forum better than a little bit of humor.
